Sarah Rovner is a designated pilot examiner who holds an ATP certificate with B-767, B-757, B-737 and CL-65 type ratings and is currently an FAA Safety Team Lead Representative, Master Instructor, and pilot for a major U.S. Airline with over 7300 hours of flight time. Since changing careers as a senior network engineer for the oil and gas industry, Sarah obtained her ATP, Gold Seal Flight Instructor (CFI, CFII, MEI) and has pilot licenses in the USA, Canada, Belize, and Iceland (EASA). As the owner and chief pilot of an international ferry pilot company, FullThrottle Aviation LLC, Sarah has flown over 150 different types of general aviation airplanes in 25 different countries, including oceanic crossings in small aircraft. She continues to stay involved in general aviation through mentoring and education, presenting original seminars on aviation safety and human factors.
She has given over 2000 hours of instruction and has provided transition training to pilots all over the world for aircraft they have purchased. She also has given many hours of training in simulators for airline pilots and conducted validations (check rides )as part of her role as an instructor/evaluator for a Part 121 airline. She obtained her Gold Seal Flight Instructor in 2020 and Master Instructor certification in 2018 and has maintained it since, and received the 2018 NBAA Tony Kern Professionalism in Aviation Award for her work in aviation safety. She also received the 2019 FAASTeam Representative of the Year award for the Houston District and 2020 FAASTeam Representative of the Year award of Philadelhpia.
Her passion for aviation extends beyond flying professionally. She flies her Super Cub, "Patches", at every opportunity she gets and is a regular fly-in attendee of Oshkosh, EAA fly-ins, Young Eagles flights, and other local events.
